500 g. of beef batok 1/4 k. of potatoes 1 carrot 1 eggplant half a head of garlic peeled and crushed 2 onions, chopped 3 tomatoes chopped

Right Ingredients:
1 bell pepper chopped
2 c. of meat stock or water
1 tbsp. of olive oil
1 tbsp. of butter
1/2 tsp. of dried basil (or 1 tsp. fresh)
a pinch of rosemary
2 tbsp. of tomato paste
salt and pepper

Instructions: |
Instructions: Heat a large saucepan or casserole. Pour in the olive oil. Add the butter. Over high heat, brown the beef cubes. Add the garlic, onions, tomatoes and bell pepper. Cook until the vegetables are soft. Pour in the meat stock or water. Stir in the tomato paste. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 1-1/2 to 2 hours or until the beef is tender. Check the liquid once in a while. Add more stock or water if necessary. While the beef is simmering, peel the potatoes and carrot. Cut into wedges about the same size as the beef. Cut the eggplant similarly. Soak the potatoes and eggplant wedges in cold water to avoid discoloration. When the beef is tender, add the potatoes, carrots, basil and rosemary. Simmer for 10 minutes. Adjust the seasonings. Add the eggplants and simmer for another 5 minutes or until all the vegetables are done |
